You will learn to perform various tasks in relation to cargo handling, vessel stability and manoeuvring, equipment checking and maintenance, operational quality and safety.</p> <p style="text-align:justify;"> </p> <p style="text-align:justify;">In addition, you will learn to communicate using standard marine vocabulary, visual signalling and other maritime equipment. You will learn to determine position of the vessel by using radar and other bridge equipment. You will be taught how to measure and observe weather conditions and interpret and apply these to Watchkeeping.</p> <p style="text-align:justify;"> </p> <p style="text-align:justify;">This course is aligned to the educational requirements for certification as Deck Watchkeeper as described in Marine Orders - Part 71 (Masters and Deck Officers) 2014 under the Australian Navigation Act 2012.
